As part of our own #WasteNot week, we celebrated our green initiatives, including our very first store that is powered entirely by rubbish.

We’ve run several campaigns to help people manage waste: ‘Love your leftovers’, Make your roast go further and also championed ugly fruit and veg to make the most of British crops, even where damaged.

We thought we’d give our customers a chance to share their great #WasteNot tips as well- for a chance to win a £10 voucher! We received a total of 30 tips via Twitter and have pulled together our favourites below.

How to reduce waste around the home

1) Instant Gravy

2) Perfect Crisps

3) Garlic Bread

4) A healthy alternative to ice cream

5) Fridge Bottom Minestrone

6) Make your roast go further

And finally the winning tip

7) A refreshing drink

When cooking vegetables add a vegetable or chicken stock cube to give a much tastier vegetables and use the left over stock to make a gravy, sometimes I add sweet chilli sauce and some tomato or brown sauce for the gravy.
