Confusion amongst Brits about potential health impact of salt intake: Only 1 in 10 people believe monitoring salt intake is important
New salt research released today by Sainsbury’s to mark their support of the Government’s Responsibility Deal new salt pledges, shows that nearly half of Brits (42%) don’t monitor their salt intake and fewer than one in 10 (9%) monitor it strictly, while a further 43% don’t know the recommended daily salt intake for an adult.

Sainsbury’s horticultural apprentices step into their role
Apprentices this month started on the first retailer-led national apprenticeship scheme for horticulture and agriculture. Through the Sainsbury’s scheme, the retailer is offering a City & Guilds accredited Level 2 Diploma which will give the apprentices hands on, practical experience within horticulture suppliers to Sainsbury’s.

Sainsbury’s to introduce hundreds of new shopping trolleys developed with parents of disabled children
Sainsbury’s has responded to calls from parents with disabled children for a more secure shopping trolley and, after months of testing a prototype with parents and children, the retailer has today announced that they will begin introducing nearly 600 of the new trolleys to supermarket stores across the UK from 15 September.
