British parents revealed the most emotional milestone in bringing up a child – the first day at school. Researchers who polled 2,000 parents of school children found that, while parenthood is crammed full of millions of joyous moments, dropping a little son or daughter off at school was hailed as the most emotional.

Sainsbury’s opened its 650th convenience store in this week. The store on Mitcham Lane, Streatham employs 25 local people and offers improved choice, as well as a broad range of convenience goods for local residents looking to top-up their main food shop. It is open from 7am to 11pm, seven days a week.

Sainsbury’s cuts the price of petrol and diesel
Sainsbury’s has announced that from tomorrow, Tuesday 19th August, it will be cutting the price of unleaded petrol by up to 2 pence per litre and diesel by up to 1 pence per litre across its 294 forecourts.

Sainsbury’s buys remaining stake in Anobii e-books platform
Sainsbury’s has bought the remaining stake, previously held by Penguin Random House and HarperCollins UK, in the e-books platform Anobii Ltd. The deal gives the retailer full control of the company as part of its growing Sainsbury’s Entertainment digital offer.
