The simple pleasures… Sainsbury’s launches TV summer campaign
20 June 2012
Sainsbury’s is launching a new TV advert to inspire its customers to Live Well For Less.
The new advert, which airs for the first time during the break for Coronation Street on ITV1, will run throughout the summer. The advert is set during the school summer holidays and features two boys making friends across a garden fence and spending the summer together.
The advert highlights Sainsbury's commitment to helping its customers to Live Well For Less by demonstrating how children can entertain themselves and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. It shows that they don't necessarily need to have days out to theme parks or for their parents to spend a lot of money on entertaining them during the school holidays. Instead there a number of simple things children can do as played out in the 60 second ad.
Providing the perfect soundtrack to the advert is the (Theme from) The Monkees' by The Monkees.
Sarah Warby, Marketing Director, Sainsbury's says: "This campaign marks the next chapter for Live Well For Less showing customers that we're committed to helping them enjoy the good things in life. The summer holidays can be particularly expensive, especially for many customers with families but at Sainsbury's they can enjoy competitive prices without compromising on quality or values.
"We're really proud of our fantastic quality by Sainsbury's products and our great Tu clothing range that both feature throughout the television advert and demonstrate the quality and value Sainsbury's offers customers everyday."
The advert was filmed on location in Buckhurst Hill, Essex and was directed by director Tony Barry of Sonny Production Company. Tony, who directed Sainsbury's previous 'father and son' adverts, has been responsible for memorable adverts for a wide range of companies including VW, MTV and Land Rover.
