Recycling hangers

hanger recycling

In 2010 we collected 20,648,940 and returned 4,297,935 into the supply chain for reuse. The remaining 16,351,005 hangers were recycled, made up of 327 tonnes of plastic and 164 tonnes of metal.

The recycling process involves shredding the hangers in an industrial granulator. The fragments are then passed through separators that remove metal particles and other contaminates such as paper from hanger labels. The plastic is processed further into reusable high quality plastic material. All metal and paper is collected for recycling.

We have been accredited by the Environment Agency as a recognised accredited re-processor of plastic recyclable materials.
