In May we re-launched our in-store salad bar, which is now in 240 stores, reducing fat, saturated fat and increasing fibre and five-a-day where possible. We have reduced the fat in many of our dressings. For example in our potato salad we have replaced double cream with crème fraiche and lower fat mayonnaise, reducing fat by up to 50 per cent. We have increased the fibre and protein content of our salads by using ingredients such as chickpeas, butter beans, bulgar wheat, quinoa, edamame beans and wholewheat pasta. We have also reduced salt and sugar in the range. Over 50 per cent of the range is now suitable for vegans, and the majority is suitable for vegetarians. All products in our salad bar now carry Multiple Traffic-light Labelling to help customers make balanced and informed choices.
